The Adventures Of Jerry Muskrat

What was it Mother Muskrat had said about Farmer Brown’s boy and his traps? Jerry Muskrat sat on the edge of the Big Rock and kicked his heels while he tried to remember. The fact is, Jerry had not half heeded. He had been thinking of other things. Besides, it seemed to him that Mother Muskrat was altogether foolish about a great many things.

“Pooh!” said Jerry, throwing out his chest, “I guess I can take care of myself without being tied to my mother’s apron strings! What if Farmer Brown’s boy is setting traps around the Smiling Pool? I guess he can’t fool your Uncle Jerry. He isn’t so smart as he thinks he is; I can fool him any day.” Jerry chuckled. He was thinking of how he had once fooled Farmer Brown’s boy into thinking a big trout was on his hook.

Slowly Jerry slid into the Smiling Pool and swam over towards his favorite log. Peter Rabbit stuck his head over the edge of the bank. “Hi, Jerry,” he shouted, “last night I saw Farmer Brown’s boy coming over this way with a lot of traps. Better watch out!”

“Go chase yourself, Peter Rabbit. I guess I can look out for myself,” replied Jerry, just a little crossly.

Peter made a wry face and started for the sweet clover patch. Hardly was he out of sight when Billy Mink and Bobby Coon came down the Laughing Brook together. They seemed very much excited. When they saw Jerry Muskrat, they beckoned for him to come over where they were, and when he got there, they both talked at once, and it was all about Farmer Brown’s boy and his traps.

“You’d better watch out, Jerry,” warned Billy Mink, who is a great traveler and has had wide experience.

“Oh, I guess I’m able to take care of myself,” said Jerry airily, and once more started for his favorite log. And what do you suppose he was thinking about as he swam along? He was wishing that he knew what a trap looked like, for despite his boasting he didn’t even know what he was to look out for. As he drew near his favorite log, something tickled his nose. He stopped swimming to sniff and sniff. My, how good it did smell! And it seemed to come right straight from the old log. Jerry began to swim as fast as he could. In a few minutes he scrambled out on the old log. Then Jerry rubbed his eyes three times to be sure that he saw aright. There were luscious pieces of carrot lying right in front of him.

Now there is nothing that Jerry Muskrat likes better than carrot. So he didn’t stop to wonder how it got there. He just reached out for the nearest piece and ate it. Then he reached for the next piece and ate it. Then he did a funny little dance just for joy. When he was quite out of breath, he sat down to rest. Snap! Something had Jerry Muskrat by the tail! Jerry squealed with fright and pain. Oh, how it did hurt! He twisted and turned, but he was held fast and could not see what had him. Then he pulled and pulled, until it seemed as if his tail would pull off. But it didn’t. So he kept pulling, and pretty soon the thing let go so suddenly that Jerry tumbled head first into the water.

When he reached home, Mother Muskrat did his sore tail up for him. “What did I tell you about traps?” she asked severely.

Jerry stopped crying. “Was that a trap?” he asked. Then he remembered that in his fright he didn’t even see it. “Oh, dear,” he moaned, “I wouldn’t know one today if I met it.”

DALLAS (AP) — The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States died in a Dallas hospital Wednesday, a little more than a week after his diagnosis exposed gaps in the nation's defenses against the disease and set off a scramble to track down anyone exposed to him.

Thomas Eric Duncan, 42, was pronounced dead at 7:51 a.m. at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he was admitted Sept.28 and had been kept in isolation, according to spokesman Wendell Watson.

"Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease," Watson said in a statement.

Duncan carried the deadly virus with him from his home in Liberia, though he showed no symptoms when he left for the United States. He arrived in Dallas Sept. 20 and fell ill several days later. His condition was downgraded during the weekend from serious to critical.

Others in Dallas still are being monitored as health officials try to contain the virus that has ravaged West Africa, with more than 3,400 people reported dead. They also are trying to tamp down anxiety among residents frightened of contracting Ebola, though the disease can be spread only through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an already sick person.

Health officials have identified 10 people, including seven health workers, who had direct contact with Duncan while he was contagious. Another 38 people also may have come into contact with him. The four people living in the northeast Dallas apartment where Duncan stayed have been isolated in a private residence.

"The past week has been an enormous test of our health system, but for one family it has been far more personal ... They have our sincere condolences, and we are keeping them in our thoughts," Dr. David Lakey, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, said in statement.

"We'll continue every effort to contain the spread of the virus and protect people from this threat," Lakey added.

Officials have said everyone who potentially had contact with Duncan is being monitored for 21 days, the normal incubation period for the disease.

Duncan passed an airport health screening in Liberia, where doctors measured his temperature as normal and found no signs of Ebola symptoms. But a few days after he arrived, he began to have a fever, headache and abdominal pain.

He went to the emergency room of Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas on Sept. 24, but was sent home. By Sept. 28, his condition had worsened and an ambulance took him back to the hospital where he stayed in isolation.

Duncan's family had visited Texas Health Presbyterian earlier in the week and glimpsed Duncan using a camera system, but said Tuesday they had declined to view him again because the first time had been too upsetting.

"What we saw was very painful. It didn't look good," Duncan's nephew, Josephus Weeks, said Tuesday.

The hospital has changed its explanation several times about when Duncan arrived and what he said about his travel history. It has acknowledged that Duncan told them on his first visit that he came from West Africa.

The Dallas County medical examiner's office will not be receiving Duncan's body, but spokesman Stephen Kurtz said he did not know Wednesday what the alternate arrangements would be.

Piala Dunia

Saat ini piala dunia 2014 dilangsungkan di Brazil. Negara ini di tunjuk sebagai tuan rumah pesta sepakbola terbesar di dunia ini mengingat sejarah negara Brazil yang tidak jauh dan tak pernah luput dari segala hal yang berbau sepakbola.

     Bagi sebagian kalangan. ini merupakan salah satu kesempatan untuk bersenang-senang bersama teman-teman atau keluarganya. Dengan menyaksikan berbagai pertandingan antar negara yang terjadi di saat piala dunia berlangsung. tentu saja mereka akan mendukung negaranya dalam pertandingan sepakbola di Brazil tersebut.

     Tetapi tidak semua kalangan dapat menonton setiap pertandingan yang berlangsung. karena, setiap ticket yang terjual dapat dikatakan cukup mahal atau bahkan terlalu mahal bagi kalangan yang kurang mampu atau kelas ekonomi menengah kebawah. mereka tidak dapat menyaksikan pertandingan secara langsung di stadium.

     Mereka tidak dapat secara langsung mendukung tim nasional mereka masing-masing secara langsung dan hanya bisa melihat dari layar televisi mereka sendiri. Tetapi, semua orang dari berbagai kalangan atau berbagai kelas ekonomi yang mengaku suka dengan sepakbola sudah seharusnya mereka senang dengan adanya ajang empat tahunan ini bagaimanapun kondisinya.

My Biografi

Chapter 1

I want to describe my biografi. My name is Jerry Anggoro Kasih but my friend usually call me Jerry. I was born in depok, 11 January 1994 and now I’m 20 years old. When I was 4 years old my parents entered me to kindergarten until 5 years old, maybe.

Saat ini aku tinggal dan menetap di ibukota Indonesia tercinta yaitu DKI Jakarta. Tempat yang bagi sebagian orang dianggap tempat impian, tempat dimana semua kebutuhanmu dapat terpenuhi dan tersedia disini. Tempat dimana ribuan orang menggantungkan hidupnya disini.

Tetapi tidak banyak ingatan yang ku ingat pada saat aku berada di taman kanak-kanak tersebut. Hanya beberapa ingatan kecil yang kuingat. Lalu pada saat umurku lima tahun setengah aku masuk kesebuah primary school, yaitu SDN Menteng Dalam 01 Pagi, Kec.Tebet, Jakarta selatan.

Seperti kebanyakan murid-murid yang lain aku bersekolah disana selama 6 tahun, yang kuingat pada saat itu ya hal-hal yang biasa saja seperti datang ke sekolah, belajar, bermain, DLL. Ketika selesai dari sekolah dasar aku pun masuk kesalah satu junior high school di daerah tempat tinggalku yaitu SMPN 67 Jakarta Selatan, tiga tahun aku menuntut ilmu disana.

Di sekolah itu saya mengikuti ekstrakulikuler Sepakbola tetapi lebih tepatnya futsal dan Rohani Islam. Tiga tahun sudah kulewati disekolah itu dan aku pun lulus di tahun ke tiga tersebut. Aku pun berlanjut ke Senior High School. Lucunya SMA ku terletak tidak jauh dari SMP ku bahkan bisa dibilang hanya bersebelahan saja. Aku melanjutkan studi ku di SMA 43 Jakarta.

Di SMA akupun mengikuti ekstrakulikuler sepakbola dan rohani islam atau rohis. Tiga tahun aku menuntut ilmu si SMA tercinta ku itu. Ditahun ketiga adalah salah satu tahun yang menegangkan dalam hidupku karena pada tahun ketiga ku aku menghadapi ujian nasional dan ujian sekolah, hal itu sangat menguras tenaga, pikiran, bahkan mental dan emosi sangat diuji pada saat itu tetapi dengan penuh perjuangan akhirnya akupun lulus.

FUTSAL

Futsal adalah jenis baru atau variasi baru dari olahraga sepakbola. Yang biasanya dimainkan dilapangan yang lebih kecil dan dimainkan di dalam ruangan atau Indoor. Namanya adalah aportmanteau dari futebol Portugis de Salão, yang dapat diterjemahkan sebagai "ruang football". kedua kejuaraan dunia olahraga tersebut diselenggarakan di Madrid pada tahun 1985, Di Spanyol nama futbol sala digunakan sebagai nama awal untuk futsal. Sejak itu, semua nama lainnya telah resmi dan diubah secara internasional menjadi futsal. Ini dikembangkan di Brasil dan Uruguay pada 1930-an dan 1940-an sebagai solusi kurangnya lapangan sepak bola yang tersedia. Di Brasil futsal dimainkan oleh lebih banyak orang daripada sepakbola, tapi tidak menarik banyak penonton sebagai olahraga outdoor. Beberapa pemain futsal telah pindah ke karir sebagai pemain sepak bola profesional yang sukses.

            Futsal dimainkan oleh dua tim yang mana masing-masing tim terdiri dari 5 orang pemain beserta kipper nya. Pergantian pemain di dalam olahraga futsal tidak dibatasi, para pemain yang sudah dig anti atau keluar bisa masuk dan bermain kembali. Tidak seperti beberapa bentuk lain dari sepak bola indoor, permainan ini dimainkan dilapangan yang keras dan dibatasi dengan garis-garis.

            Futsal juga dimainkan dengan bola yang lebih kecil dari bola sepakbola biasa, dan juga bola yang digunakan memiliki daya pantul yang kecil karena disesuaikan dengan kondisi lapangan di dalam ruangan yang tidak terlalu besar. Bola dan segala peraturan yang ada membuat para pemain futsal harus memiliki kreativitas, improvisasi, teknik dan control bola yang baik untuk bergerak dan melewati lawan di ruang yang tidak terlalu besar. 

PEMAIN, PERALATAN, DAN PENGAWAS PERTANDINGAN

Ada lima pemain di setiap tim, salah satunya adalah kiper. Jumlah pemain cadangan yang diizinkan adalah Sembilan pemain (tetapi bisa berubah sesuai peraturan FIFA yang di perbaharui), dengan pergantian yang tidak di batasi. Pengganti bisa masuk kelapangan bahkan ketika bola masih berada dalam permainan, tapi pemain yang akan diganti harus keluar lapangan terlebih dahulu sebelum pemain pengganti bisa masuk ke lapangan. Jika tim memiliki kurang dari tiga pemain dalam tim, pertandingan akan di hentikan dan dihitung sebagai kerugian bagi tim dengan kurangnya pemain dan mereka akan kalah.

Pakaian yang di pakai terdiri dari kaus olahraga atau jersey sepakbola, celana pendek, kaus kaki, shinguards atau penjaga tulang kering yang terbuat dari karet atau plastik, dan sepatu dengan sol karet. Kiper diperbolehkan untuk mengenakan celana panjang dan pakaian dengan warna yang berbeda, untuk membedakan diri dari pemain lain dalam tim dan wasit. Ia juga diperbolehkan untuk memakai bantalan siku karena permukaan lapangan yang keras. Perhiasan tidak diperbolehkan, atau barang-barang lainnya yang bisa membahayakan pemain.

Pertandingan futsal dipimpin oleh wasit, biasanya wasit yang bertugas dilapangan futsal terdiri dari dua orang yang berdiri dan bertugas di sisi kanan dan sisi kiri dalam lapangan tersebut. Keputusan wasit bersifat mutlak dan tidak dapat di ganggu gugat dan hanya dapat diubah jika sang wasit merasa perlu merubahnya sebelum permainan di lanjutkan kembali. Dan ada juga wasit ketiga yang bertugas sebagai pemegang dan pengatur waktu lapangan dan juga mencatat setiap pelanggaran yang terjadi.
